1. Eat “Real Food”
FOOD IS VERY POWERFUL MEDICINE!
In fact, most of us totally underestimate the power of a healthy, real foods diet.
Did you know that changing your diet can prevent and even cure chronic illnesses such as cancer, autoimmune diseases and more?
Our bodies were created with the ability to heal and detoxify naturally. But they can only take so much when it comes to all the chemicals in our environment and food supply.
When our immune systems are properly functioning, they can do amazing things like kill cancer cells and regenerate healthy tissue. (Oh, did I mention grow a healthy baby?)
One of the best ways to boost immunity and begin healing is to eat a clean, REAL foods diet.
What is REAL FOOD?
Real food is food in its natural state… free of artificial coloring, flavorings, preservatives, or other food additives that are so prevalent in our standard American diet. (SAD diet)
Give your body (and baby) a break and stop eating FAKE FOOD! You (and your baby) deserve better.

2. Avoid Pharmaceuticals During Your Natural Pregnancy
I wish that I would have known more about homeopathy during my pregnancies!
I successfully treated hemmorhoids during one of my pregnancies, but there are so many other awesome ways to use homeopathic medicines during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care.

3. Natural Pregnancy and Synthetic Vitamins!
You may not even realize it, but your prenatal vitamins may actually be making you sick!
Many women report a significant decrease in pregnancy nausea when they switch to a naturally-sourced prenatal vitamin. There are several reasons for this.
In addition, your body may not be absorbing enough nutrients from a synthetically-sourced prenatal vitamin.

4. Get Regular Exercise
Pregnancy is not the time to quit exercising. It’s also not the time to begin a strenuous exercise program, if you don’t already regularly exercise.
Be sure and talk to your doctor before beginning a new exercise routine during pregnancy, but… by all means… DO get some exercise!
Gentle exercise during pregnancy has so many benefits for you and your baby.
First of all, it helps increase blood flow, bringing plenty of oxygen to your baby.
Regular pregnancy exercise also builds stamina and prepares your body for the physical demands of labor and childbirth.
Evidence shows that women who exercise regularly during pregnancy have shorter, easier labors! (source)
One of the best (and easiest) prenatal exercises is walking!
Walking keeps you pelvis aligned properly and helps your baby settle into a more favorable position for birth.

5. Drink This Natural Pregnancy Tonic
Have you ever heard of the benefits of red raspberry leaf tea for pregnancy?
If you are serious about being “au natural” you simply must give this tea a try!
It’s been used by midwives for centuries with some pretty amazing results.
Among its many benefits, raspberry leaf tea is known to strengthen and tone the uterus, which is key to the progression of natural labor.

6. Use Toxic-Free Personal Care Products
We may literally be poisoning ourselves with all the chemicals and toxins in our modern skin care products. (source)
Our bodies can only handle so much exposure to parabens, plastics, solvents, preservatives, formaldehyde and petroleum-based products before succumbing to illness.
… And many skin-care products contain these awful ingredients!
Unfortunately, there hasn’t been enough research to prove or disprove the safety of most skin care product ingredients, but do you really want to wait ten or twenty years before the research catches up?
Do you want to risk your own health and the health of your unborn baby?
Especially since it has been proven that our skin absorbs chemicals and solvents. (source)
Not only that, but much of what comes into contact with our skin will eventually get absorbed into our blood stream. (source)

7. Consider Chiropractic Care for a Natural Pregnancy (& Birth!)
I went to the chiropractor during all five of my pregnancies. It helped me so much!
I was able to birth all my babies without back labor, medications or medical interventions. This, I believe, is one of the big reasons why!
There are so many great benefits to chiropractic care during pregnancy. Just make sure that you find a chiropractor that is experienced in prenatal care!

8. Eat Dates!
Have you ever heard that eating dates during pregnancy increases your chances of a faster, easier labor?
It’s true and there’s science to prove it! (Yay!)

9. Drink Water and Stay Hydrated
Prevent constipation, urinary tract infections, pre-term labor and so much more by staying well-hydrated during pregnancy!
The American Pregnancy Association recommends drinking 10 (8 oz) glasses of water each day… and even more when exercising.

10. Use Coconut Oil
