My grand babies

My Experience

I’ve been a mom for 29 years. I know first hand, that being a mom is a tough job.

For the first 18 of those years, I was a stay-at-home, home-schooling mom. I was incredibly blessed to be able to stay home with my 5 children when they were young.

I know that many moms do not have that option. It was a tremendous gift!

I am also a grandma to 3 beautiful grandchildren.

For the past decade+, I have been working as a doula and lactation specialist. Caring for new mamas and babies is my job, but it is also my delight and passion.

One of my many passions, actually….

My Passions… faith, family, mamas and babies, real food as medicine and homeopathy

I believe that everything we possess is a gift from God and belongs to God, especially our children. I also believe that God equips mothers with everything we need to care for our families and help them heal.

It is also true that our bodies were made to heal themselves. The more I learn about pregnancy, childbirth and lactation, the more I marvel at how “fearfully and wonderfully” we are made.

When I became a mother, I began a journey to learn more about holistic and natural healing.  I never settled for drugs when I knew there was a better way.

Real food and natural remedies became our medicine and we began experiencing improved health and healing.

Since then, I have become rather passionate about sharing our successes with real food and natural healing.

The Problem with “Doctor Google”

Many millennial parents turn to the internet for answers. It’s a great resource!

The problem is, however, that much of the advice online is confusing or conflicting. Some of it is even outdated or completely wrong. This is no good… especially when it comes to our precious babies!

Not only can the internet be confusing and conflicting, but most new parents also get too much “helpful” advice from friends and families too. Again, much of this advice is either outdated or completely BAD.

With literally hundreds of mommy blogs offering advice and inspiration. How do you know who to trust?

Virtual Doula Help

Because there are so many women who cannot afford to hire a postpartum doula, I have decided to start this online resource to help them.

Maybe that woman is you. If so, allow me to walk along side you and hold your hand during this sometimes challenging season of life.

It is always my goal to provide up-to-date, evidence-based information – or to always make a distinction between evidence-based or anecdotal evidence.

In this blog, I share my favorite evidence-based postpartum doula advice as well as some holistic mothering hacks that will help you sort through the confusion, gain confidence and put your fears to rest.

Since many parents are looking for drug-free, non-toxic and safe solutions to common mom and baby ailments, I also offer my pregnancy, postpartum and baby hacks with a holistic twist.

As I share my own experiences with mothering, grand-mothering and “doula-ing”, I hope that you will feel validated, normalized and empowered in your own mothering journey.

Thanks for visiting! Please come back often. 🙂
